In 1992, Amanda Bossard began her studies in marine biology in Anchorage from Alaska Pacific University. Bossard's career began in 1999 when she was offered a position aboard the F/V Sunset. It is a 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed into a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. He is a commercial fisherman for more than twenty years. Bossard and Aritan are now married and are working together to stake their claim to their industry. They support conservative, profitable management of sustainable seafood resources.
